How are the Portraits coming?  I look forward to seeing the prints this Tuesday.

I just came across this website:  www.photoxels.com/digital-photography-tutorials.html and thought some of you might also enjoy it.  There are several tutorials on the site that are very instructional and easy to follow.
As all of you PhotoBugs think about the Portraits you are currently working on, I encourage you to look around for examples of Portraits by other photographers.  In our culture, we are surrounded by images.  We can look in magazines, at websites, and in books to study the work of other photographers.  This is a wonderful way to learn about what makes a successful photograph.

Portraits

Our last meeting was so much fun!  Thanks to everyone who attended.  I look forward to the year ahead, I'm sure we are going to see some wonderful photographs!  Please feel free to email me or leave comments in this blog if you have any questions, technical or otherwise.

Our first "Photo-Assignment" will be the genre of Portraits.  This is a really wide-open assignment.  Be as traditional or as creative as you want.  Portraits can be of friends, family, people on the street, maybe even your pet!  You may use whatever medium you choose:  digital, analog, black & white, or color.  Bring your prints (prints should be at least 4x6 inches) to our next meeting and we will hang them up and discuss them.

PhotoBugs

Welcome to PhotoBugs, an organization for Marshfield High School students who have an interest in photography.  We meet every other week, Tuesdays after school at 3:30 in class room 115.  We welcome all students, from the advanced to those who may not even know how to load film in their camera!  After each meeting, I will post a new tutorial, discussion topic, or photo-assignment on this blog.
